This year, the ESCAPE project partners convened in the picturesque city of Göttingen, Germany for our third General Assembly. Our productive discussions covered a range of topics, including successful recruitment techniques, ESCAPE’s health economics approach, and the progress of our eHealth platform. ESCAPE’s advisory board joined virtually to provide crucial feedback and insights.

The clinical trial’s success hinges on sufficient recruitment of patients, so we took time to celebrate three of our clinical trial sites for being the first sites to hit their recruitment targets! Congratulations to Zealand University Hospital, Cologne University Hospital and Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) for your efforts.

During the event, we had the privilege of hearing from UMG’s Faculty of Medicine, Dean Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Brück, who shed light on the challenges faced by healthcare departments. Dr. Brück spoke to the current challenges for healthcare departments, including a lack of staff, and how UMG’s Faculty of Medicine is addressing these challenges, with a focus on bringing research results to patients and training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

After a busy day, the consortium took part in a Walking Tour of Göttingen, followed by a delightful dinner at Kredo. Did you know that Göttingen boasts an impressive legacy of Nobel Prize laureates? With 47 associated laureates (second only to Stockholm), this city has always been a hub of intellectual achievement.

Thank you again to the team at UMG for your kindness and hospitality, we are already looking forward to next year's meeting!
