Florim Hamiti, on behalf of the Fraunhofer team, presented at DSAI 2022 – Software Development and Technologies for Enhancing Accessibility and Fighting Info-exclusion.
The paper, “Development of a flexible and interoperable architecture to customize clinical solutions targeting the care of multimorbid patients” was presented as part of the Accessible, Smart, and Integrated Healthcare Systems for Elderly and Disabled People paper session. The paper covers the following:
The digitalization of healthcare offers the potential to improve healthcare delivery and medical research. One critical step towards this direction, which is not yet an established practice, is the ability to share health data and health records. One crucial step that has led to this low uptake is the marginal degree of the usage of technical standards and interoperable applications. Thus, the clinical software landscape remains strongly heterogeneous with countless individual applications which can rarely be integrated with an overall architecture; hence, they work as a standalone application due to the lack of interoperability. Therefore, in the paper, we presented a development of a flexible and interoperable architecture that can quickly and easily be customized to the individual requirements of clinical research projects.
Thank you to the organisers of DSAI for inviting us to share our work.
